Kindergarten Registration and New Student Enrollment

Registration for new students for the 2020-21 school year is now open. In order to help slow the spread of coronavirus, we are conducting registration online, rather than in person. Go to the HCPS Registration page and register your new student using the new HCPS Online Registration portal. The page details the documents you’ll need to submit to your school via the portal.

TAKE A SURVEY

In early March, HCPS introduced the idea of a pre-Labor Day start to the 2021-22 school year. That was before the educational landscape shifted. At its May 14 work session, the Henrico School Board decided to revisit the issue and consider two calendar options for 2021-22 — one with a pre-Labor Day start and another with a more traditional post-Labor Day start.  Take a survey, open until June 3 at 8 a.m., and tell us your thoughts.

Kindergarten Registration & Preschool Process

Kindergarten registration coming soon, and preschool process is back on track

  • Kindergarten registration has been delayed because of the public health crisis, but don’t worry — we’ll announce a new registration date (and process) soon! Until then, we invite families of future kindergartners and other new students to begin preparing the forms and required documentation you’ll need, by going to the Registration/enrolling your student in Henrico County Public Schools web page. We look forward to meeting you soon!
  • After being halted to help stem the spread of coronavirus, the application process for HCPS’ 2020-21 Early Learning Preschool is back on track with the help of virtual technology. Here’s how to apply before the application window closes May 31. As for registration and enrollment of kindergarteners and other new students, stay tuned for additional information in early May!
